SUMMARY:Knowledge College
DESCRIPTION:  \n\n  \n\n\nOverview\n\n\n\n\n\nYour Aging Plan: Getting Your Ducks in a Row 2026\n\n\n\nKnowledge College for Aging \n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\nOverview\n \n10am-11am – Thursday – August 27th 2026\n\n\nJoin us as Dr. Mike Edwards PhD\, CHHP\, CHES\, CPT\, Professor at the Faith College of Natural Health\, shares on “Managing or Curing GERD Without Drugs!” \nMillions of seniors experience chronic acid indigestion or GERD and are often prescribed drugs to block stomach acid production. This often prolongs or worsens the problem since the older we become\, the less stomach acid is produced to help digest our food. In addition acid reducers often create nutritional deficiencies which could lead to serious health consequences. \nHelping Seniors Executive Director Kerry Fink hosts the 2026 Knowledge College for Aging series with a look at the steps for “Getting Your Ducks in a Row” and the 7 Key Pillars of a Good Aging Plan. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n  \nHelping Seniors Knowledge College for Aging! \n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Aging Plan Series presented by Helping Seniors \nA key component of your Aging Plan—what we call “Getting Your Ducks in a Row”— is knowing what key components should be in it and how to bring it all together. \nHere in Florida\, we all know the importance of having a Hurricane Plan—not because we want a storm\, but because we want to be prepared. An Aging Plan follows the same principle. It doesn’t mean expecting problems—it means being ready for whatever comes your way. \nThrough our Knowledge College for Aging series\, you’ll learn how to build your own Aging Plan—your personal roadmap for “Getting Your Ducks in a Row.” \nBe proactive. Be prepared. Join us in creating a smart Aging Plan\, tailored to your needs. \n📞 RSVP today at (321) 473-7770Presented by Helping Seniors of Brevard \nSenior Resource Center of Brevard📍 1344 S Apollo Dr\, Ste 2C\, Melbourne\, FL 32901 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n				  \n\n \nLocation:\n \nSenior Resource Center1344 S Apollo Blvd - 2nd FloorMelbourne FL 32901321-773-7770 \nClick Here for Directional & Parking Information

SUMMARY:Mental Health First Aid
DESCRIPTION:Overview:\n \n \n \n \n \n \nAdult Mental Health First Aid Training\n \n\nOverview\n \n\n\n\nNearly 1 in 5 people in the U.S. live with a mental illness. Learn how to support your friends\, families\, and neighbors with this training.\n \nMental Health First Aid (MHFA) is skills-based training that teaches people how to identify\, understand\, and respond to signs and symptoms of a mental health or substance use challenge. Like physical First Aid and CPR\, MHFA helps you assist someone experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis until professional assistance is obtained or the crisis is resolved. Studies show that MHFA training reduces stigma\, improves knowledge\, and increases first-aid actions toward people experiencing mental health and substance use challenges.\n \nDuring the course\, you’ll build the skills and confidence to reach out and provide initial support to struggling people. You’ll also learn how to help connect them to appropriate support.\n \nAFTER THE COURSE\, YOU’LL BE ABLE TO:\nRecognize common signs and symptoms of mental health challenges.Understand how to interact with a person in crisis.Know how to connect a person with help.Use self-care tools and techniques.\n \nDelivery:\nAll registered learners will complete a 2-hour\, self-paced online assignment PRIOR TO THE TRAINING\, and participate in a 5.5-hour\, in-person Instructor-led training.
