Helping Seniors of Brevard

Meet Kim Bernard

Kim Bernard joins our service family as Education Specialist. She is based at our new Helping Seniors Resource Center located at Zon Beachside. You can reach Kim at 321-473-7770. We’re honored she is on the Helping Seniors team! Here’s a bit about her background:

Her experience includes four years spent in the United States Navy reserve in an administrative role providing service to both enlisted and officer personnel. While serving in the Navy Reserve, she attended Wesley College in Dover, Delaware where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in the field of Legal Studies.

Soon after graduation from college, from what started out as just time spent helping a friend take care of her elderly mother, she was called to help serve others in need for elder care at home which shaped my future for working with the senior population, a journey of twelve years. In the meantime, she decided to further my education at Wilmington University, where she earned a Master of Science degree in the Administration of Human Services.

Once settled in Brevard County, she became a volunteer for Love in the Name of Christ, a Christian ministry based in Melbourne, Florida. As a mentor and volunteer for the Administrative team and Clearinghouse call center, she provided guidance and referral services for a broad spectrum of various populations, including the elderly, homeless, and victims of domestic abuse. Her experience as a volunteer ranges from administrative support to being a mentor and helping to guide individuals who needed life’s direction towards public assistance programs and community resources supported by a faith based organization.
