Heart Smart! February 2024 is Heart Month! The Community Education Series Meet your Brevard Healthcare Team / Learn about local Senior-Care Resources / Enjoy Fun, Games, Info and Refreshments. Join us for this session with your friends from Omni Healthcare, CarePlus Health Plans, and the Helping Seniors "Senior Resource of Brevard." Agenda: 1100am - Check-In, Enjoy Healthy Snacks and a complimentary Hot or Cold Beverage and visit our Senior Resource Center Partner Tables for great information and resources to help you navigate Senior years well. 1115am - Special Presentation - "Battling Dangerous Belly Fat" - Educational Programming Presented by CarePlus Health Plans - Helping us learn how to stay happy and healthy as we look at our daily diet! 1135am - Special Presentation - "Tips for Heart Health" - Tami Leeberg AAPRN, Primary Care / Owner of Practioners in Motion, is a board-certified Adult and Geriatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner. PIM is a mobile primary care practice, which means they bring medical care to you! PIM provides acute care and chronic care management for patients living in assisted living facilities in Brevard and Surrounding Counties. 1155am - We take a "Healthy Break!" Let's take a few minutes to enjoy some Healthy Snacks and a complimentary Hot or Cold Beverage. 1210pm - Special Interactive Session - Free Blood Pressure Screening - Learn how to properly do your own Blood Pressure Screening and have yours done by the medical professional at Practioners in Motion. 1230pm - Presentations Conclude and Door Prizes are announced. Senior Education Series Events
The Senior Education Series provides information and services for today’s Seniors (and those who love & care for them!) at convenient central locations in Brevard County.
Established in 2019, in cooperation with Zon Beachside Assisted Living, and a number of partners committed to excellence in serving seniors, the Senior Resource Center of Brevard introduced a Senior Education Series that has become known for covering topics that are important to Seniors in Brevard County.
In addition to regular programs at our “Home Port” – Joe’s Senior Resource Center of Brevard – located 2nd Floor of the Omni Professional Tower at 1344 S Apollo Blvd in Melbourne FL – the Helping Seniors expands our Community Education series to include additional locations throughout Brevard County.
The Seminar is Free although we ask you to please RSVP so we are able to get an accurate attendance plan as space is limited we want to plan correctly for the complimentary Snacks & Refreshments for those who do RSVP.
